German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has announced Michael Schumacher as its new ambassador, in a partnership that's to extend beyond Formula 1 by focusing on the company's future developments, particularly Intelligent Drive, the Mercedes-Benz safety and comfort system.

Schumacher, who's been driving for the Mercedes-Benz Formula 1 team for the last three years, commented 'I find it very exciting to be able to contribute towards further developments and the optimisation of safety together with the inventor of the car'.
